The top knot, wheelhouse, and turnbuckle may sound like wrestling moves, but these names describe the shapes of new Bavarian pretzels created by Eastern Standard Provisions. This Boston-based snack company was recently launched by Eastern Standard restaurant owner, Garrett Harker, with a team of co-founders including Lauren Moran, an alum of Harker’s restaurants and owner of Honeycomb in Hamilton.

Made with malted barley flour and malt syrup, these bronzed beauties are super-sized. Hand-rolled, twisted and knotted, each pretzel is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. ESP offers two dipping sauces to accompany their pretzels: Get Lost Maui Onion Mustard and Haus Party Queso Dip (a cheesy, velvety texture, mixed with Tabasco). It’s no wonder our team reflected their spicy and playful personality with a colorful brand to showcase their top-notch offerings.

Acting as a natural sidekick to beer, the pretzels are sold mostly at restaurants or brewery taprooms such as Mystic Brewery, Lord Hobo, Mighty Squirrel, and Notch Brewing. Eastern Standard Provisions also ships their goods, so you can get a package with baking instructions sent right to your door. The pretzels retail between $17-$34 depending on style and amount.
