The Need

One of the most unique and successful players in the direct-selling world, Traveling Vineyard empowers its members to become expert “wine guides” who conduct in-home tastings and market the company’s line of award-winning products. Founded in 2001 and then restructured in 2011, the brand originally came to 36 many years ago for a complete brand overhaul, which included strategy, positioning, logo design, website development, packaging and collateral. Traveling Vineyard recently asked us to once again refresh their web presence in order to speak to a rapidly changing market.

The Approach

Without looking for a rebrand, the team at Traveling Vineyard wanted to simplify and streamline their website, as well as the ability to upload and change content on the fly. A strong focus was placed on mobile optimization, as research and discovery led us to understand just how much of today’s wine segment is smartphone-centric. Through a number of deep-dive meetings with the client, we were able to identify aspects of their existing website that might be best left intact, as well as entirely new elements necessary for adding a more modern and sophisticated touch to Traveling Vineyards’ web presence.

The Solution

Bubbly, vivacious and positively intoxicating, the new website for Traveling Vineyards created by 36 speaks directly to the core ethos of the brand. We maximized white space, implemented clean lines and curves, and created a scroll-style navigation that captures attention quickly and effectively without overwhelming the user with information or unnecessary imagery. The result is a website that is simultaneously minimalist and playful, with plenty of customizable content rows that can be updated quickly and efficiently.
