The Fancy Pants Golf Extravaganza raised $21,000, benefiting Boston Children’s Hospital. The tournament was held on October 3rd at the Windham Country Club and consisted of 109 players. 15 sponsors also participated in the event, including Business.com and Panorama Wealth Strategies. Players competed for a variety of prizes, including the title for fanciest pants.
Players arrived wearing their wildest, brightest, and fanciest golf pants. Instead of classic argyle and khaki, participants sported an array of neon colors and animal prints; some accompanied by matching suit jackets. The apparel requirement created an instant buzz with the course and the large group of game onlookers, proving it to be a theme for success.
“Our goal is to make The Fancy Pants Golf Extravaganza a well-known New England tradition,” said Steve Gabriel. He continued, “This year’s event was a successful start to an annual tournament benefiting a great organization.” He added, “All of us at 36 are grateful for such a large turnout and strong show of support.”
Tournament sponsors included Bowst, The Granite Group, Fairway Independent Mortgage, First Republic Bank, Technology Seed, Drive Custom Fit, Vincent Forzese, E.B. Rotondi & Sons, Fresh Since 2015, Enterprise Bank, and Palmer Innovative. Beer samples were provided on the course by Founder’s Brewing Co., alongside soft pretzels from Eastern Standard Provisions.
Additional funds were raised through raffle tickets, contests, and unconventional game add-ons, such as the opportunity to buy a mulligan. Products were donated for raffle from local brands including Chippo Golf, Oyster Common, Marathon Sports, Buchika’s, Summer Sessions, Well Told, Traveling Vineyard, Rockler, Jeff Valois Photography, Scrub-a-Dub, T-Bones and the Copper Door Restaurant.
